Simon "Solomon" Rogers
SOLOMON LEE ROGERS also known as “Tommy” was born on January 19, 1956 in Cashville, Virginia to Geneva Rogers Turner and the late Douglas Martin. He departed this life on Monday, September 25, 2017 at Salisbury Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Salisbury, Maryland.
Solomon was raised in Savageville, Virginia and attended Accomack County Public Schools. He joined the United States Army in 1981 and completed basic training in Ft Knox, Kentucky. After returning home from the Army, he moved to New Jersey.

Solomon was always a worker. Before his health started to fail, he was the one you would want to help you when work was involved. He held numerous jobs of landscaping/yard work, custodial services; namely at the University of Delaware, where he received his certificate of Custodial Training.
Although Solomon left us suddenly, he will be forever remembered by his mother, Geneva Rogers Turner of Parksley, VA; loving caregiver brother, James Rogers of Salisbury, MD; three sons, Acmadia Brown, Elijah Pope, Sr., and Solomon Lee Byrd, all of New Jersey; two daughters, Tanaya Byrd of Tennesee and Selina Harris of New Jersey; one sister(cousin), Sandra Rogers Bailey of Delaware; nine grandchildren; one nephew, Rashyn Custis (Casey) of Salisbury, MD; five nieces; a special cousin(second mom), Chestina Rogers Ledbetter of Delaware; and a host of cousins and friends.
