Obituary for Robbie "Twin" Dennis
Robbie Dennis was the second baby boy born on July 10, 1971 to the late Bobby Sheppard and Darlene Dennis in Parksley, Virginia. He departed this life on Wednesday, October 11, 2017.
Robbie was educated in the public schools of Accomack County, where he excelled in football and baseball. He was a proud graduate of Arcadia High School Class of 1989.
Robbie was employed at Perdue Farms, Inc. in Accomac for twenty-seven years. During those twenty-seven years he held several positions, starting as a floor boy and working his way up to be a well-respected shift leader. Robbie, better known as “Twin,” had a heart of gold and was always willing to give. He loved being a part of the Relay for Life Accomac Team, where he was famously known as “Mrs. Purple Passion.”
On February 14, 1997, Robbie and Martisha united as one, and their union was blessed with two daughters. Robbie boldly accepted Christ in March 2015 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Boston under the leadership of Rev. Jesse E. Thomas. There he served as a member of the Male Ushers, Events Committee, and he spearheaded the Annual Bike Blessing for the last two years. Robbie and his family definitely loved where they worshipped!
In his early years, Robbie loved playing softball, basketball, and flag football. He was a star player for C. C. Humbles Stars, where he and his twin brother helped them gain many championship titles. He enjoyed playing the game until his knees starting talking to him, saying “You’ve got to retire us.” After this Robbie, found a new love for 2 wheels and became a member of Rated X MC. In the club, he worked his way up in the ranks and was currently the Regional President. He was fondly referred to as “Prez.”
Robbie loved his family and had a true love for people, especially his twin. He was a jokester, a gentle giant, and a big teddy bear with a warm heart for all. For those who really knew him, you would have to endure all the Green Bay Packers smack talk.
Robbie was preceded in death by his mother, Darlene Dennis; father, Bobby Sheppard; grandmother, Leonar Broughton; sister, Lynette White; and aunt, Martha Justice.
