Frances Ann Bailey was born August 6, 1938 to the late George and Mary West Kellam. The Lord whispered in Frances’ ear and she answered His call and thus was called home to glory on January 29, 2019.
Frances gave her life to Christ in her early years. She attended Northampton County Public Schools and then later moved to Delaware and attended the public schools there.
Frances moved back to Virginia, after a short period of time, where she entered the workforce at Perdue Farms in Salisbury, Maryland and later in the seafood industry shucking oysters. Frances had a passion for singing and was often referred to as the “Song bird.” Her favorite hobbies were fishing and cooking large family meals.
Frances was preceded in death by her mother, Mary West; father, George Kellam; daughter, Vivian Bailey; sisters, Maggie Thompson, Margret Trusty, Mary Burton, and Eunice Kellam; and brother; George Ed.
Frances leaves loving memories to be cherished by her seven children, Francine Collins (William), Peggy Ann Strand-Chandler (Foster), Jane Bailey, Minnie Wise, Peter Bailey, Cora Bailey, and Mary Bailey; two siblings, Cora Sample and Preston Kellam; twenty-six grandchildren, Stacy Parker (Johnathan), William Bailey, Frances Bailey (Kentrel), Markevus Collins, Mary Collins, Taivon Collins, Martisha Dennis, Tabora Bailey, Brian Wise (Khadijah), Kenisha Strand, Keith (Michelle) Strand, Jr., Jane Davis (Tim), Danielle Bailey, Jamal (Yobana) Bailey, Tevin Custis, Angie Bailey, Francine Bailey (Tyrell), Keshunda Bailey, Chris Bailey, Corey Bailey, Jeremiah Bailey, Elijah Bailey, Peter Bailey, Rosheaka Bailey, Steve Bailey, and Keith Bailey; fifty-one great grandchildren; eight great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
