Janice Louise Goodwine Mason, daughter of the late Frank and Geneva Goodwine, was born on Saturday June 29, 1957 in Accomack County Virginia. On Sunday, December 27, 2020 while in Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home.
Janice received her education in the Accomack County Public Schools and graduated from Atlantic High School in June 1976. She was an active participant of a softball team and was a great player. All of her classmates knew that no one could hit that ball and clear bases like Janice could. In her younger years, she loved wearing 6-inch-high heels and yes, she had a variety of styles.
Janice was employed by several employees over the years including: Holly Farms which later became Tyson Foods, Hampton Inn & Suites, and Royal Farms. Her last place of employment was Royal Farms until her health declined. Janice was such a loving and kind person with a sweet soul. She had a smile that would light up the world. She gave the best hugs and advice. Janice enjoyed telling you like it was ÅšTRAIGHT UP. She loved collecting newborn doll babies, going to the thrift store, and yard sales. Janice was always very independent and strong-willed. She was the best mother that a son could ask for and she loved her sons dearly, the bond they had for one another was unmatched. Janice loved talking on the phone and never wanted to hang up. She would never finish her conversation without talking about her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and telling you that she loved you.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her son, Roger Mason; four brothers, Fred, John, Willie, and Tony Goodwine; and eight sisters, Christine, Melody, Renea Goodwine, Lizzie Mae Justice, Loretta Morris, Marie and Willameana Davis, and Louraine Baine.
Janice leaves to cherish her memories her son, Rozelle Mason (Quayshetta); brother, Larry Goodwine; bonus grandchildren, Dwayne, Myrion, and My’Tez; two brothers-in-law, Edward Morris and Alonzo Baine; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and Althea Goodwine; a special niece, Nyneshia Holden (Meme); a special friend, Charlene Shrieves; a special sister, Brendola Miller; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
