Michelle Northam Wharton, beloved daughter of Robert Edwards and the late Annie Northam, was born on February 22, 1960, in Parksley, VA. She departed this life on August 21, 2020.

Michelle graduated a year early from Parksley High School in 1977. She later received her Associate Degree in Information Technology from Eastern Shore Community College in 2004. In her lifetime she was employed at the Shirt Factory in Parksley, VA, Coldwell Banker, Wallops Flight Facility, United States Postal Services, and Hermitage on the Eastern Shore.
Michelle was blessed with three children: Joe Northam, and Cornik Northam. However, she was later united in holy matrimony to Keith Wharton on February 17, 1990, and their union was blessed with Keichelle Wharton. Nobody was a stranger to Michelle. Family and friends always knew they would have a great conversation when visiting her. She could outtalk anyone! One of her favorite past times was watching television. She especially liked to watch wildlife documentaries, Jude Judy, and game shows such as Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and The Price is Right. She also enjoyed going to the casino to play the slot machines! She was a feisty and friendly spirit who had an infectious and unforgettable personality. These qualities and memories will be cherished by all.

Her beloved and precious son Joey, sadly preceded her in death on May 2, 2020.

She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Keith Wharton of Accomac, VA; children, Cornik Northam of Accomac, VA, and Keichelle Wharton of Chesapeake, VA; father, Robert Edwards of Parksley, VA; sisters, Doris Edwards of Parksley, VA, Joanne (Reggie) Riddick of Chester, PA, Lula Mae (David) Satchell of Accomac, VA, Gloria Pettit of Parksley, VA, Celestine (Willie) Hargis of Parksley, VA, Terry (Earnest) Dickerson of Chester, PA, and Patricia Bibbins of Parksley, VA; brothers, Alfred Northam of Parksley, VA, Robert Northam of Parksley, VA, Ernest Northam of Parksley, VA, and David (Gwendolyn) Northam of Bear, DE; seven grandchildren; five step-children; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

My heartfelt sympathy to the Wharton and Northam family. She has left her earthly body; but, be comforted to know she is sitting around God's throne with that beautiful smile waiting for us to enter the kingdom. Rest on Michelle! You are gone from here but you will never be forgotten.

Words cannot express how I feel. I've lost one of my childhood friends. She helped me to babysit my younger siblings. During her early stages of illness, she asked me to make sure her kids would be ok. Joey is gone, however I will make Cornick and Keichelle a priority. Sleep on my friend, you will forever be in my heart. Alma(Ampooh)
