Anthony Wayne Selby was born on December 5, 1965 to the late Vernon Alonzo Fisher and Elizabeth Ann Selby. He departed this life on August 22, 2020 at his residence in Horntown, Virginia.

Anthony received his education in the Accomack County Public Schools. He was a member at First Baptist Church in Mappsville, Virginia.

Anthony was previously employed at NASA Facility Center on Wallops Island. He held other various jobs throughout his lifetime. Anthony was a very friendly and kind-hearted person. He was always smiling, whenever you saw him. He would say, “How you doing?” And would answer “Alright,” before you asked him. Anthony loved watching movies and wearing stylish hats. His infectious smile will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Anthony leaves to cherish his memories his loving grandmother, Galina Savage; four brothers, Savanta Selby, Vernon (Naomi) Fisher, Russell (JoAnn) Fisher, and Marion (Catherine) Fisher; three sisters, Teresa (Edward) Trader, Sandra (Wayne) Walker, and Helen Fisher; three uncles, Alvin (Gerry) Selby, Ruben “Butch” Selby, and Robert Brown; seven aunts, Shelia (Dwayne) West, Sharon Savage, Coretta Ellison, Dorethera Brown, Thelma Douglas, Janice Conquest, and Betty Justice; one great-aunt, Linda Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Twice a week for several years Anthony stopped by the building I worked in at NASA Wallops to perform custodial duties. It was evident to all he interacted with that he loved his job. His kindness was infectious. I found myself looking forward to seeing Anthony because I could count on him to raise my spirits despite all. There were times when we would both pause work just to have a conversation and catch-up. He was always curious what I had brought for lunch and we shared recipes on occasion. I appreciated Anthony because he was genuine. He was a hard worker. He was curious, happy, and loved life. He will be missed.
