Obituary

Azurin Ulysse “GRO” passed away on Wednesday night October 7, 2020 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital due to a plethora of chronic illnesses, ranging from diabetes to congestive heart failure, which he fought for years. Anyone who knew him was aware, just like he dealt with all challenges and experiences in life, “GRO” managed his illness with good spirits and strength. He wanted to pass on the same good spirit, good character, and grace to his loved ones. He fought his illness for as long as he could in order to extend his days here with us. He wanted to spend as much time as possible with his loved ones. Unfortunately, he succumbed to all the health complications on Wednesday night, October 7, 2020.

Azurin was born in Haiti on September 22, 1956 to Xius Ulysse and Otance Simeone. He married his wonderful wife, Anne C. Ulysse and they shared over forty years.

Azurin’s career started as a tailor in Haiti, where he worked for and touched many people through his couture and the various organizations he was part of. He later moved to the U.S and ended up on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, where he settled and worked for over thirty years. Though he enjoyed his work, his greatest joy always was the love for his family which he cherished and loved very, very dearly.

He is survived by his loving wife of over forty years, Anne C. Ulysse; five children, Serge Ulysse, Nesly Ulysse, Patrick Ulysse, Riguens Ulysse, and Azurinsha Ulysse; and six wonderful grandchildren, Steevens Ulysse, Nerissa Ulysse, Sergio Ulysse, Emylou Ulysse, Mallie Ulysse, and Brandon Ulysse.

Azurin “GRO” may be gone, but his memories live in us and will be carried on for eternity.

    Notes
In the light of the evolving situation with COVID-19 virus, we are making adjustments to adapt to the current health emergency. In order to reduce the spread of the virus in our community, we are limiting the public’s access to our facility. We will continue to serve our families with the utmost dignity, as well as maintain the safety guidelines provided by the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Cooper & Humbles Funeral Co., Inc. will comply and hold all services private until further notice. We will not have any public viewings in our facility. In an effort to accommodate family and friends, we are posting photos and the funeral/graveside service video of your loved ones on their respective Book of Memory pages on our website, www.cooperandhumbles.com. This will allow you to have a lasting memory picture and attend the service virtually. We thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time and as soon as this matter is resolved, we will resume our normal practices.
