Azurin Ulysse “GRO” passed away on Wednesday night October 7, 2020 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital due to a plethora of chronic illnesses, ranging from diabetes to congestive heart failure, which he fought for years. Anyone who knew him was aware, just like he dealt with all challenges and experiences in life, “GRO” managed his illness with good spirits and strength. He wanted to pass on the same good spirit, good character, and grace to his loved ones. He fought his illness for as long as he could in order to extend his days here with us. He wanted to spend as much time as possible with his loved ones. Unfortunately, he succumbed to all the health complications on Wednesday night, October 7, 2020.

Azurin’s career started as a tailor in Haiti, where he worked for and touched many people through his couture and the various organizations he was part of. He later moved to the U.S and ended up on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, where he settled and worked for over thirty years. Though he enjoyed his work, his greatest joy always was the love for his family which he cherished and loved very, very dearly.
